How to use this tool
- Pick the photo size — 3.5 × 4.5 cm for passports and most forms — and add a clear, front-facing photo.
- Drag the photo so the face sits in the oval, zoom if needed, and choose a white or blue background if you want one.
- Choose 4×6 photo paper or A4 and how many copies, download the PDF and print it at 100% (Actual size).
Passport photos without the studio queue
Admission forms, ID cards, bank accounts, office records and passports all ask for a few printed photos, usually 3.5 × 4.5 cm. A studio charges for every set. With a phone photo and this page you get a full sheet of correctly sized copies — eight on 4×6 photo paper, many more on A4 — that any print shop or home printer can turn out for a few rupees.
Exactly the right size on paper
The download is a PDF the size of the real paper, with every photo placed at its true size in millimetres. Print it at 100% (“Actual size”) and each copy measures exactly what you chose; “Fit to page” would shrink them. A thin grey line around each photo makes cutting easy, and can be switched off. If you would rather take a picture file to the shop, the same sheet is available as a 300 DPI JPG.
Background colour
Most forms want a plain white or light background. If yours is a wall at home, choose White and the background is replaced. That step runs on our server because separating a face from its background needs work a browser cannot do; the cropped photo is deleted as soon as the new one is made. It works best on a clear photo with the person well apart from the wall — look at the hair and shoulders before printing, and keep the original background if the edges look rough.
For online forms
A printed passport photo and an uploaded one are different jobs: online forms check pixels and kilobytes, not centimetres. For an upload with a KB limit, use the Form photo & signature tool on the same page.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the passport photo size in India?
Usually 3.5 × 4.5 cm with a plain white background; that is the default here. Always check the form or the office's own instructions.
How many passport photos fit on a 4×6 sheet?
Eight photos of 3.5 × 4.5 cm fit on 4×6 inch photo paper with a small gap for cutting. An A4 sheet holds about 30.
Why are my printed photos smaller than 3.5 × 4.5 cm?
The printer was set to “Fit to page”. Print the PDF at 100% or “Actual size”.
Can it make the background white?
Yes, choose White. This step runs on our server and the photo is deleted afterwards. Check the edges around the hair before printing.
Is my photo uploaded?
Cropping and the print sheet are made in your browser. Only the background change sends the cropped photo to our server, for that one step.
