When the text converter is the right tool
Not every conversion job is a document. Often you have a paragraph copied out of an old PDF, a line of a WhatsApp message, a name and address block, or a single heading someone sent you in Kruti Dev. Uploading a file for that is overkill. Paste it here instead — conversion happens as soon as you click, and a copy button puts the result on your clipboard.
More than one legacy font
Kruti Dev 010 is the best known legacy Hindi font, but it is far from the only one still in circulation. Chanakya and Walkman-Chanakya turn up constantly in older DTP and newspaper work, Shusha in academic and publishing files, and Shivaji and Shree Lipi in Marathi offices. Preeti, PCS Nepali and Kantipur are the equivalents in Nepal. Pick the font from the dropdown and the correct mapping is used.
The Nepali fonts are legacy-to-Unicode only — there is no verified reverse table for them, and rather than guess at one, the option is simply not offered. A few narrow, documented quirks in the other fonts are listed in the app where they apply, instead of being hidden.
Nothing leaves your list of worries
Text conversion is a plain request and response — no file is stored, no account is needed, and there is no length limit worth mentioning for normal use. If the text is long enough that you are pasting a whole document, use the Word file converter instead: it will keep your tables and layout, which pasted text cannot.
A note on what you will see
Converted Kruti Dev text looks like scrambled English in the output box, and that is correct — the box renders it in whichever font your browser has. It becomes Hindi the moment it is displayed in Kruti Dev 010. If the font is not installed on your PC the tool says so, so you are not left guessing whether the conversion failed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which legacy Hindi fonts does the text converter support?
Kruti Dev 010, Chanakya, Walkman-Chanakya, Shusha, Shivaji (Marathi), Shree Lipi (Marathi), and Preeti, PCS Nepali and Kantipur for Nepali. The Nepali fonts are legacy-to-Unicode only.
Is there a limit on how much text I can convert?
No practical limit for normal use. For a whole document, use the Word file converter instead so tables and formatting are preserved.
Why does the converted Kruti Dev text look like English?
Because your browser is displaying it in a normal font. Kruti Dev stores Hindi shapes on English key codes, so the text only looks like Hindi when shown in the Kruti Dev 010 font itself.
Is my pasted text stored anywhere?
No. It is converted and returned; nothing is saved and no account is required.
